Building a sustainable website for a sustainable product

Until quite recently the environmental impact of the internet wasn't something that people really thought about.  According to online carbon calculator Website Carbon the average website produces 1.76g of CO2 for every page view, so a site with 100,000 page views per other emits 2,112kg of CO2 every year.  

As a green tech purpose driven company we obviously wanted to tackle this issue head on when we were creating our new website and sought help from Jay and Max a design & development duo from the UK who have a desire to deliver websites that don’t do more harm than good.

We've worked together to find the right balance of informative, yet stripped back of large images and whizzy gizmos and the site has carbon neutral hosting from our good friends at Leap. We've been amazed at the length Jay has gone to, to ensure that through every step of our website our carbon use has been minimised.
