The Cleaner Seas Group is developing a world-first Microfibre Recycling Centre in Bude, Cornwall. This innovative project has been made possible with the support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This venture will see laundry microfibres, captured in Cleaner Seas Group’s groundbreaking filters, converted into recycled materials for use in a range of industries. Thus creating sustainable alternatives to raw materials used in manufacturing. This initiative represents a major leap forward in circularity, in creating a new and cutting-edge recycling process and in reducing the microplastic pollution entering our environments and ocean.
The support from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, awarded through the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme, has been pivotal in supporting the launch of this world-first innovation. This new recycling centre will tackle circularity in microfibre recycling globally and enhance Cleaner Seas Group’s mission to transform microplastic waste into new materials for multiple industries.
