The 30th November 2021 saw another big step forward in the fight against microplastic pollution. The Cleaner Seas Group team are stakeholders in the All Party Parliamentary Group on Microplastics along with NGOs, scientists, washing machine manufacturers and other tech companies, and have alongside our contemporaries contributed to the Microplastics Policy for Government.
On the 30th November Alberto Costa, Chair of the APPG introduced this Bill to the House of Commons. This is when the Bill is published as a House of Commons paper for the first time. The next stage is second reading, and this is the first opportunity for MPs to debate the general principles and themes of the Bill. This is set for the 21st January 2022 (please pop the date in your diaries and make sure your MP is aware and supports the bill)
